The Illustrated Guide to Crime Hunting 2 was a criminal investigation mystery drama. It was broadcast simultaneously on iQiyi and QQ on December 10,2024. The drama was created by the original cast, including Tan Jianci as the lead actor and Jin Shijia as the special actor.
This drama cut in from the perspective of a portrait artist, retaining the core of the story of " painting color development, painting people's hearts ". The breadth of the story, character design, production level, and other aspects were effectively upgraded. From the first season's " Detective " to the second season's " Person in the Case ", it presented a more tense relationship between the characters and a more exciting case plot. However, although the premiere of the show scored a high score of 9.8 and the number of views exceeded 10 million, its reputation reversed and some viewers requested to take it down. The main problem was the confusion of logic. For example, in the plot, the surviving man was asked questions unrelated to the case, the police relied on the suspect to prove himself when there was no evidence, the police only relied on the vague color number lock onto the murderer, and the way the murderer avoided the surveillance was difficult to understand.
