The Gospel of John

The Gospel of John

The Gospel according to John is quite different in character from the three synoptic gospels. It is highly literary and symbolic. It does not follow the same order or reproduce the same stories as the synoptic gospels. To a much greater degree, it is the product of a developed theological reflection and grows out of a different circle and tradition. It was probably written in the 90s of the first century. The Gospel of John begins with a magnificent prologue, which states many of the major themes and motifs of the gospel, much as an overture does for a musical work. The prologue proclaims Jesus as the preexistent and incarnate Word of God who has revealed the Father to us. The rest of the first chapter forms the introduction to the gospel proper and consists of the Baptist’s testimony about Jesus (there is no baptism of Jesus in this gospel—John simply points him out as the Lamb of God), followed by stories of the call of the first disciples, in which various titles predicated of Jesus in the early church are presented. The gospel narrative contains a series of “signs”—the gospel’s word for the wondrous deeds of Jesus. The author is primarily interested in the significance of these deeds, and so interprets them for the reader by various reflections, narratives, and discourses. The first sign is the transformation of water into wine at Cana (Jn 2:1–11); this represents the replacement of the Jewish ceremonial washings and symbolizes the entire creative and transforming work of Jesus. The second sign, the cure of the royal official’s son (Jn 4:46–54) simply by the word of Jesus at a distance, signifies the power of Jesus’ life-giving word. The same theme is further developed by other signs, probably for a total of seven. The third sign, the cure of the paralytic at the pool with five porticoes in chap. 5, continues the theme of water offering newness of life. In the preceding chapter, to the woman at the well in Samaria Jesus had offered living water springing up to eternal life, a symbol of the revelation that Jesus brings; here Jesus’ life-giving word replaces the water of the pool that failed to bring life. Jn 6 contains two signs, the multiplication of loaves and the walking on the waters of the Sea of Galilee. These signs are connected much as the manna and the crossing of the Red Sea are in the Passover narrative and symbolize a new exodus. The multiplication of the loaves is interpreted for the reader by the discourse that follows, where the bread of life is used first as a figure for the revelation of God in Jesus and then for the Eucharist. After a series of dialogues reflecting Jesus’ debates with the Jewish authorities at the Feast of Tabernacles in Jn 7; 8, the sixth sign is presented in Jn 9, the sign of the young man born blind. This is a narrative illustration of the theme of conflict in the preceding two chapters; it proclaims the triumph of light over darkness, as Jesus is presented as the Light of the world. This is interpreted by a narrative of controversy between the Pharisees and the young man who had been given his sight by Jesus, ending with a discussion of spiritual blindness and spelling out the symbolic meaning of the cure. And finally, the seventh sign, the raising of Lazarus in chap. 11, is the climax of signs. Lazarus is presented as a token of the real life that Jesus, the Resurrection and the Life, who will now ironically be put to death because of his gift of life to Lazarus, will give to all who believe in him once he has been raised from the dead.

The Douluo Continent martial souls, the Black Tortoise and the Mysterious Underworld Tortoise.
On the Douluo Continent, the Xuanming Tortoise was a type of martial soul. Its owner was Xu Sanshi. The Xuanming Turtle Martial Spirit had both water and earth attributes, and its defense was extremely strong. Therefore, its owner, Xu Sanshi, was called the "Eternal Defense". This Martial Soul contained the bloodline of the Divine Beast Black Tortoise. Once it was awakened, its defensive power could be comparable to the Divine Beast Black Tortoise. The Black Tortoise Martial Spirit was mentioned in different situations. It was related to the Xuanming Tortoise Martial Spirit. The Black Tortoise Martial Spirit could evolve from the Xuan Ming Turtle Martial Spirit. For example, after Xu Sanshi and Jiang Nannan combined, the Xuan Ming Turtle Martial Spirit evolved into the Black Tortoise Martial Spirit. It also had a powerful defensive ability and could evolve into the Golden Black Tortoise. In terms of abilities, there were some spirit ring abilities based on the Black Tortoise spirit. For example,"Black Turtle Swap" could swap positions with one of the three enemies with the lowest attack power. At the same time, it could force the enemy's unit with the highest attack power to attack the character that had changed positions. This skill could disrupt the enemy's formation and protect their own rear line."Black Tortoise Shield Formation" could shield the two teammates with the lowest HP, restore their HP, remove the debuff, and obtain a damage reduction effect. If combined with the "Black Tortoise Domain" soul ring, it could also repel the enemy when adding shields to teammates."Black Tortoise Domain" could also generate an area under the feet of teammates that increased attack speed and Lifesteal buff and provide damage reduction."Black Tortoise Bloodline" skill could reduce the enemy's long-range damage to oneself, and one's own attack power could be converted into defense, increasing one's own attributes and tankness. In short, the Mysterious Underworld Tortoise and the Black Tortoise (martial soul) were both related to powerful defensive abilities in the Douluo Continent. Moreover, there was an evolutionary connection between the two. "What's Twin Martial Souls? I Have Five Martial Souls" is also a wonderful novel. Everyone is welcome to click to read it!

The tortoise and the hare race
The tortoise and the hare race was a short fable from Aesop's Fables. In the story, the rabbit thought that he was born to run fast, so he underestimated his opponent during the race with the tortoise and slept on the way. Although the tortoise was slow, he kept moving forward, and finally the tortoise won the race. The moral of this story included: the weak who worked hard to become stronger, as long as they persevered, sometimes they could defeat the strong who were arrogant and complacent. It warned people not to be arrogant when they won, not to be discouraged when they lost, and to be down-to-earth in order to succeed. Don't underestimate others easily. Modesty makes people improve, and pride makes people fall behind. No matter how confident you are, if you don't work hard and prepare enough, you can't win in the competition. Being too conceited may lose confidence. Everyone has advantages and disadvantages. You should respect others and not despise them. Even if you have an advantage in some aspects, you should not be proud. When you are at a disadvantage, you can succeed as long as you persist in your efforts.

The Black Tortoise of the Wilderness
In the relevant settings of the Primordial World, the Black Tortoise belonged to the Turtle Tribe. Its bloodline was second only to the Black Tortoise. Moreover, the Black Tortoise could be promoted to the Black Tortoise after its bloodline was upgraded. It was considered a noble among the turtles. Some stories set the protagonist as the Black Tortoise in the Celestial Immortal Realm. At the end of the Longhan Cultivation Tribulation, the Primordial World was full of dangers, and the Black Tortoise was at the bottom of the world and faced many dangers. In addition, there were stories of villagers digging ponds and encountering giant tortoises. The giant tortoises claimed to be Xuanwu, claiming that the pond was the habitat of the Xuanwu clan. The novel " Fantasy Queen Breaks the Heavens " is equally exciting. Everyone is welcome to read it!

The novel ranking board, Xuanwu, was a fictional concept that did not have a fixed ranking. Different readers and websites may rank different novels, but there is no unified standard to measure whether a novel is ranked high or not.
