Season One Synopsis — "The Halo Cracks"
In the year 2026, humanity survives within Vespera, the Last City of God, a gleaming metropolis protected by the mysterious Halo of Ash. Behind its towering cathedrals, celebrated saints, and holy guardians, the people believe they are living under Heaven's final blessing. Beyond the city's walls lies only ruin, monsters, and the end of civilization.
Then people begin to disappear.
Not through murder, but through erasure. Entire lives vanish from history. Families forget their own children. Friends become strangers. Records rewrite themselves overnight, leaving behind only empty rooms and unanswered questions.
Only one man remembers.
Malachi Vale, a young Grace Bearer wielding a sacred sword, retains memories of those erased from existence. His impossible gift marks him as both humanity's greatest hope and the city's greatest threat. When the Crown Synod declares him a heretic, he becomes the target of the Halo Guard led by Michael Vale, Vespera's legendary twin-pistol saint and one of its most celebrated protectors.
As Michael investigates the impossible phenomenon, his unwavering faith begins to fracture. The miracles he once believed in conceal horrifying truths, and the city he has sworn to defend may be sustained by unspeakable sacrifices.
Watching from the shadows is Luciel, an enigmatic strategist who has secretly spent years unraveling Vespera's hidden history. Knowing that a catastrophe long foretold has finally begun, he draws Malachi and Michael into a conspiracy buried beneath the city itself.
Their search uncovers the existence of the Seven Deadly Sins, a secret order that has manipulated Vespera's politics, religion, and history for generations. At their head stands Pride, a calm and charismatic leader who believes humanity can survive only through absolute order—even if that means deciding whose existence deserves to be remembered.
As the three unlikely allies descend beneath the city, they discover the House of Eternities, an ancient archive where forgotten souls, erased identities, and abandoned destinies are imprisoned. They learn that the Halo of Ash is not protecting Vespera from the outside world. It is sealing away something beneath it.
With every battle, the Grace power system evolves, pushing Malachi's swordsmanship, Michael's twin-pistol mastery, and Luciel's shadow warfare to extraordinary heights. Their clashes with the Seven Deadly Sins reshape districts, shatter sacred monuments, and expose the fragile balance holding reality together.
The conflict reaches its climax when Pride attempts to erase one of his own followers to demonstrate that memory itself is a privilege reserved for those who serve order. While the entire city instantly forgets the victim ever existed, Malachi alone remembers, proving that the system controlling reality is beginning to fail.
By the season's end, Michael abandons the Crown Synod, Luciel reveals his years-long hidden campaign against the city's rulers, and Malachi embraces his role as the protector of the forgotten. Their victory weakens Pride's control, but it comes at a terrible cost.
The Halo of Ash begins to crack.
Across Vespera, forgotten names return like echoes from a dream. The saints begin to question their own memories. Deep beneath the city, an ancient stone gate engraved with countless erased identities slowly opens.
A voice older than history whispers through the darkness:
"Someone remembered."
The First Self has begun to awaken.
The true war for humanity's identity has only just begun.
