There were many ancient villages in Plum Village. They were distributed in different areas and had their own characteristics.
- Mei Village, Zhugu Bridge, Nanchang, covered an area of 16000 square meters. There was Zhugu Bridge in the village. It was named after Zhu Daogu's visit to Zhu Da. It was also the birthplace of Mei Fu's descendants. There was a large flat pond in the village with a history of more than 200 years. It was half-moon shaped and there was a clear water vermilion railing beside the pond. The bluestone road ran through the village. There were seven or eight ancient buildings of the Ming and Qing Dynasties along the road, five of which were four-or five-entry deep houses. They preserved the remains of Qingshui vermilion railings, Zhugu's stone, Shimen post road, Meifu Temple, and a small number of exquisite stone carvings and wood carvings. In the center of the village, there was a cross-street stone gate called "Stone Gate Residence". The couplet of the stone gate was "The source of the stone is long, and the fortune of Thailand is long in front of the gate". It was built in the Qing Dynasty, implying that the family business will be stable forever.
- Mei Village, Yunling Town, Jingxian, was located in the southern part of Yunnan Province. It was named after Mei, a descendant of Mei Bo, a loyal minister of the Shang Dynasty. There was a stone arch bridge in front of the village, a plum village reservoir in the middle of the village, and a plum village forest at the end of the village. There were Daochang Pavilion, Mei's Ancestral Hall and Wang's Ancestral Hall in the village. The traditional skills included dragon dance, root carving, etc. The characteristic agriculture included rape flowers, peony flowers, etc. There was a small bridge and flowing water here, like a picture scroll. The movie "Return in Spring with Rain" had been shot here, and after many measures were taken to improve it, it became a provincial beautiful village construction demonstration village.
- There was an ancient well in Mei Village, Wuxi. The temple where the well was located had a history of more than 3200 years.
- Meihua Village (also known as Mei Village) of Liuyi Village Committee in Datang Town, north of Sanshui. The villagers who lived there for generations were mainly surnamed Hu. The name of the village might have something to do with the history of planting plum trees. In the past, the villagers planted a large number of sour plum trees. On the other side of the river in front of the village, there was a "Plum Blossom Shadow" named after the reflection of the sour plum trees. Although there were no plum trees now, there were many legends about plum blossoms. The village was surrounded by mountains and rivers. In front of the village was the main stream of Beijiang River, and there was an ancient wok house.
- There were many traditional villages related to plum in Wuyi Mountain, Fujian Province:
- Xiamei Village, Wuyi Street, Wuyishan City, was the first batch of traditional China villages. It was named after being located downstream of the Meixi River. It was the first stop of the Wanli Tea Road of Jin merchants. When the stream flowed through, the buildings of the Ming and Qing Dynasties, ancient trees, tea mountains, and other villages formed a strong ancient charm. There were many ancient architectural heritages preserved, including exquisite brick carvings, stone carvings, and wood carvings.
- Shangmei Village, Shangmei Village, Wuyishan City, was the fourth batch of traditional China villages. It had a strong red memory.
- Chajing Village, Shangmei Village, Wuyishan City, was the birthplace of Liu Yong. It was called Baishui in ancient times and had a history of more than 1000 years. During the Song Dynasty, it gave birth to many great scholars, civil officials, and generals. Now, it used traditional culture as a starting point to build a poetry village.
