The underground palace of Ganlu Temple was located in Zhenjiang, Jiangsu Province. In April 1960, it was discovered during the restoration of the tower base of Ganlu Temple, about three to four meters away from the tower base. The excavation lasted for 10 days. When the foundation of the tower was excavated to a depth of 4.22 meters, seven layers of soil were discovered, and an underground palace was found on the seventh layer. There was a large stone box in the underground palace. The cover of the box was covered with the stone carving of the Song Dynasty's "Record of the Resurrection of the Stupa in Runzhou Ganlu Temple". There were 40 copper coins scattered on the top, and there were also copper coins on the cover of the box. After the large stone box was hung out, there were about 900 copper coins, six pieces of broken iron, one piece of broken copper residue, three glass beads, and one piece of jade. There were Song Dynasty characters carved on the big stone boxes, two small stone boxes wrapped in brocade, two silver boxes, a lacquer cover, many spirit bones, and about four hundred copper coins. In May 1960, the silver coffin of the relic of Zen Temple was also unearthed here. In addition, the gold coffin and silver coffin of the Iron Tower Underground Palace of Ganlu Temple are decorated with shallow chisel fine patterns. The coffin and the outer coffin are mostly the same. The first frame is decorated with the door and the Ruyi Cloud Tuohui Sun. It is now stored in Zhenjiang City Museum. There was a plan to build an underground palace on the west side of Beigu Mountain scenic spot to store the Buddha relics unearthed from Ganlu Temple, but the project became an unfinished project.
