Luo Mingdao was a famous pop songwriter China Taiwan, and he had composed many songs. His works had a variety of styles, some of which were simple and elegant with the style of Huangmei tune. He also composed many patriotic songs, such as "On the Ridge of Success","Confidence in Wind and Rain","Begonia Blood Tears" and so on.

His works were often associated with movies. For example, his 1965 composition "Lover's Stone" won the Best Music Award at the 3rd Taiwan Film Golden Horse Awards, and his 1982 single "1911 Double Ten" won the Best Original Music Award at the 19th Taiwan Film Golden Horse Awards.

He composed songs for many singers, and his works were mostly concentrated in the albums of singers from the era of Haishan Records, such as Feng Feifei, Zhen Ni, You Ya, Zhang Limin, Tian Lulu, etc. For example, he wrote "Endless Songs" for Jenny (included in the album "Mother in Dreams") and "Love's Hide and Seek"(included in the album "Love's Hide and Seek", released on July 1,1976); he provided suggestions for Zhang Limin to jump out of the minor songs to perform pop dance music; he also wrote works such as "The End of the World" in Wang Zhilei's song.
