Silent film era (1890s-early 1920s, also known as the "silent film era"): 1. On December 28, 1895, the French photographer Louis Lumiere held the first screening of "The Factory Gate" on a moving cinema machine. This was considered to mark the birth of the film, and this day was also recognized as "World Film Day." 2. ** Movie Music Specialties **: - ** Performance Form **: There was no sound track in the movies during this period. All the sound effects and music were performed by a live band or pianist during the screening of the movie. This live performance made the movie music more improvisational and personal. It had different forms of performance in different occasions and audiences. - ** Function **: Movie music not only plays the role of emotional expression and atmosphere creation, but also plays the role of sound effects, such as the sound of snow, gunshots, walking sounds, etc. It also advances the movie plot through music rhythm and sound effects processing. - ** Creation and application **: Due to the limitations of film technology and the audience's cultural background, the creation and application of film music is relatively simple. Most of them are piano accompaniment or simple instrument ensembles. With the advancement of film technology and audience aesthetics, film music gradually evolved into a large symphony orchestra. 3. ** The transition from silent movies to talking movies: In the 1920s, the transition to talking movies began. In 1927,"The King of Songs" marked the arrival of the talking film era. In 1929,"The Light of New York" became a real talking film. Silent Snow Film Review
Silent Snow was a dark crime film with a unique charm. From the perspective of the story, the film told the story of a man hiding in an Ewenki forest to survive while avoiding the pursuit of his enemies. The man was faced with the dilemma of whether to atone for his sins or continue to flee. With the arrival of the documents of the Ewenki people's life down the mountain, his secret was about to be exposed, but his true identity and the truth of the murder case had been confusing. This story setting was full of suspense. In the visual presentation of the film, the real scene of the Gen River restored the real living environment of the Ewenki. The fixed poster used an uncommon bird's eye view. The combination of large white and cold blue made the whole picture cold to the bone, showing the insignificance and narrowness of humans. In the trailer, the black and white background and rhythmic editing showed the protagonist's inner struggle. From the perspective of cultural elements, the film showed the ethnic customs of the Ewenki. The ancient musical instruments, reindeer, special costumes, and language of the Ewenki appeared in the trailer, which not only made the film very stylish, but also gave these seemingly inconspicuous objects and details a symbolic meaning under the traditional suspense film narrative routine.
