The King, the Eternal Monarch
The King: The Eternal Monarch was set in a parallel world. In the winter of 1994, Prince Li Lin launched a coup in order to snatch the Ten Thousand Waves Flute. Crown Prince Li Gun cut the flute into two pieces, and Li Lin stabbed Li Gun with half of the flute. At the critical moment, a mysterious person saved Li Gun. Li Lin took the other half of the flute to the parallel world and killed himself and Li Gun when he was young. When Li Gun woke up, he had half a flute and an ID card with a photo of a strange woman from 2019. Twenty-five years later, Li Gun entered the parallel world of the Republic of Korea in 2019 with half of the flute. He met the guard of the local police department in Seoul, Zheng Taiyi. She was the person in the photo. Li Dagon fell in love with Zheng Taiyi at first sight and pursued him. The Prime Minister of the Korean Empire, Ju Rui Lian, broke into the palace at night to verify if Li Gun was in the palace. Li Gun could travel between the two worlds. He brought Zheng Taiyi to the Korean Empire, and their relationship warmed up. Li Lin organized a mysterious organization and used the flute to travel between the two worlds. He exchanged people to create chaos to get back the other half of the flute. He killed the Korean royal family's relative, Li Zongren, and also captured Luna, who looked like Zheng Taiyi, and lured her into the organization. In order to solve the mystery, Li Gun and Zheng Taiyi decided to work together. However, Li Lin captured Zheng Taiyi and let Luna live in the Republic of Korea in her place. After Li Gun rescued Zheng Taiyi, he settled her in the palace and announced her candidate for the future queen. This made Ju Ruilian disheartened. Later, Ju Ruilian's rebellion was reported to Li Gun, and the two broke up. In the development of the plot, there were also a series of interesting things that happened after Li Gun arrived in the Republic of Korea due to habits, such as the plot in the fried chicken shop. The King, the Eternal Monarch
In the fifteenth episode of The Eternal Monarch, many plot lines interweaved and developed. From the perspective of character relationships and contradictions, Li Lin would do anything to achieve his goal. He found Zai Xin in the Republic of China and used his mother from two different worlds to threaten Zai Xin, using Li Gun's life and the flute as an exchange. Zai Xin's memories revealed the complicated past between him and his mother. His mother had once been used by Li Lin for his and his future, causing them to be separated for many years. Zai Xin had also resented his mother because of this. In terms of feelings, the relationship between Li Gun and Taiyi was moving. Li Gun waited for four months to see Taiyi again. The two of them hugged each other tightly, filled with longing. Grand Unity had been worried that Li Gun would suddenly leave. Facing the unknown future, they decided to face it together. However, their future was full of uncertainty. Li Dagon said that the world was in chaos and needed to repair the cracks himself. When he was about to leave the Republic of China, Taiyi cried and hugged him, hoping that he would come back. In terms of plot development and puzzle solving, this episode played a role in explaining the mystery and foreshadowing. For example, some of the seemingly scattered plots and character relationships gradually became clear, and the audience could feel the excitement of solving a case. In addition, the other supporting characters also had their own plot developments. After Zai Xin saw through Luna's disguise as Taiyi, he and Cao Ying kidnapped Luna. Taiyi was shocked when he learned that Luna had cancer. Cao Ying and Zai Xin found Song Huijing (the Empress of the Empire) who lived in the Republic of China. When she learned that Li Lin was going to use her as a bargaining chip, Song Huijing and Li Gun set a time to meet. After that, Li Lin and Song Huijing had dinner together. Song Huijing died from taking poison. Although Li Lin was poisoned, he did not die because of the antidote. After Li Lin's plan was disrupted, he wanted to kill Li Gun. The two met when time stopped. Li Gun subdued Li Lin first and the two breath flutes combined into one, but Li Lin's breath flute could not be used because of the blood. Zaixin escorted Li Lin back to the prison of the Republic of China, but because there was no corresponding crime, Li Lin could not be arrested. During the interrogation, Li Lin said the dark things in his heart. Taiyi released the imprisoned Luna and hoped that she would take good care of her father. After Zaixin arrived, he confessed to Taiyi and refused Taiyi's request to escort Li Lin with the flute. However, Taiyi might finally agree under his repeated pleas. Li Gun returned to the empire, put on his formal attire, took the Four Yin Sword, and embarked on an unknown journey with Cao Ying. The King's Eternal Monarch's timeline
The timeline of The Eternal Monarch was as follows: The first half of the episode focused on 1994, when the eight-year-old Dagon was saved by a mysterious person and grew into Dagon (1994 - 2019). In 1994, in the Korean Empire, after Li Lin obtained the Ten Thousand Waves Flute (the key to the dimensional rift), he ran to a certain place and killed himself and a series of relatives, leaving only one Li Gun in the two worlds. He then brought his corpse to the empire. In 2019, Dagon appeared 25 years later. He rode a horse to chase after the mysterious person he thought was eight years old. Then, he rode a horse to meet Taiyi. Luna also appeared beside Taiyi. The first episode would tell the story of two eras and two spaces, which was equivalent to four space-times. The second half of the episode focused on the story of 2019, and the second episode began to delve into the story of the Korean Empire and the Republic of Korea in 2019. In addition, from some plots, it could be inferred that people in the future could travel back to the past, such as the plot related to Zheng Taiyi's work card. In 1994, when the young Li Dagon was about to die, the masked man in black (Zheng Taiyi) appeared. His work card showed that the time was 1994, but the time of his release was November 11, 2019. This implied that Zheng Taiyi, who saved Li Dagon at that time, had returned from the future. Later on, Zheng Taiyi went through some things to get a new work pass, which was also related to the work pass that Li Gun had picked up.
