How to make photography soulful

Answer 1

To make photography soulful, one could start from the following aspects:
- ** In terms of composition **
- ** Point composition method **: The "point" in the point composition is the visual center of gravity. Although it doesn't occupy a large area, it must be eye-catching enough. It could be achieved by contrast to create visual differences, such as color contrast (such as yellow flowers and dark water surface), arrangement of the main body position (such as being located at 1/3 of the picture or the golden ratio position), and so on.
- ** Making use of light and shadow composition **: Using buildings, mountains, clouds, etc. to block the light to form a special narrow light effect, focusing the focus on the scenery in the light beam. It can be used to shoot cultural works, making the character the visual focus and adding a sense of story to the picture.
- ** Other composition methods **: Use common composition methods such as the three-point method, the golden section method, and the nine-square grid. You can also try the ultimate top composition. Placing the main body at the edge can make the picture have a sense of space and extension. You can also add a "point" in the direction of the extension of the "line" scene (such as roads, boardwalks, and rivers) to form a guide line + point composition to increase the visual focus and the sense of the story.
- ** Thematic and emotional aspects **
- ** Emotional theme **: When shooting, consider that the theme of the photo is centered around emotions. You can express emotions by emphasizing the expressions and actions of the characters in the picture, or you can exaggerate the atmosphere by depicting emotional objects and light.
- ** Unique theme choice **: Using color as the main theme (such as a group photo with red as the main theme) or showing contrast (such as the contrast between the simplicity and neatness on the modern surface and the dirty mess in the dark corner) to determine the theme, so that the photo has a clear direction of expression.
- ** In terms of color and light **
- ** Color contrast **: The use of color contrast can produce a feeling of the picture, such as red and green, white and gray and black color contrast, can make a certain color become the visual focus.
- [Light and Shadow Usage: Light is the soul of photography.] Different lighting conditions could be used. The morning and evening sunlight were soft, suitable for taking photos with a sense of atmosphere; on cloudy or rainy days, soft light could be used to take pictures with artistic conception; artificial light sources (such as street lamps and neon lights) could also add to the taste of the photos. For architectural photography, light and shadow could make the building change, showing different appearances according to time and weather. It could also strengthen the architectural space and use the strength of the light to change the sense of space.
- ** Post-production **:
- ** Post-production color adjustment **: The color of the movie is relatively rich. You can learn this point during post-production color adjustment. Make good use of the color separation tool and pay special attention to the adjustment of the shadow parts. At first, you can imitate the classic color combination or movie color tones. After you are familiar with it, you can create it with creativity.
- ** Other post-production techniques **: For example, you can use the popular movie picture ratio of 2.39:1 (width: height). You can also add subtitles at the bottom of the photo to create a sense of dialogue. You can also stitch multiple photos together. Pay attention to the proportion, content, and color tone of the picture. This will give people the feeling of the number of frames in the movie and show the story. For some special techniques, such as adding dark corners (dark theme can be tried), empty shots (can be used with photo stitching), etc., you can also use them appropriately. At the same time, you can also use the phone retouching software to make appropriate adjustments, such as adjusting the color tone, adding a filter, etc., but you must avoid excessive retouching to maintain the authenticity of the photo.
