" Deep Dive " was a spy drama from the 1990s. It was released on November 13, 2024 on iQiyi, Kiwifruit TV, and Central TV. It was directed by Liu Guohui and Zhao Lijun, written by Yang Nannan, and starred by Cheng Yi and Ying 'er. The drama narrated the heroic deeds of the patriotic youth Yun Hongshen and Wen Yemingzhi during the Anti-Japanese War, who solved the mystery, exposed the Japanese agent "Black Deacon" in the national army, put down their family feud, and reversed the Changsha war situation. This was a gift-themed drama that aimed to convey the Chinese spirit and promote China's strength. However, after the show started broadcasting, its reputation was not good, and there were constant negative reviews. There were two main reasons for the bad review: First, the main actor Cheng Yi's acting skills were not good. In the play, Cheng Yi tried a spy war drama for the first time. Many viewers thought that he was not competent for the role, such as some of his movements, expressions, lines, etc. were criticized for not performing the role well; Secondly, the series had been in the works for five years, and there were some unreasonable situations such as image filtering and lighting. Moreover, the original 50 episodes were cut down to 38 episodes when it was broadcast. The continuity of the plot was affected, and the rhythm was too fast. The rapid progress of the plot in one episode made the audience feel tense and difficult to relax. "Coincidentally, Love Is Parting" is also a wonderful novel.
