There was a Japanese anime called Kandagawa Jet Girls that was related to rowing. The anime was directed by Kaneko Taku, voiced by Shinohara Yoo, Riko Ohara, Tadokoshi, and Aya Suzaki. It was produced by TPK and aired on AT-X every Tuesday on October 8th, 2019. It came from a multi-media project of the same name, KADOKAWa x Marvelous x Egg Film. The animation told the story of the protagonist Bo Huanglin, who dreamed of becoming a jet race player in the water racing sport. He left his hometown island and came to Asakusa, Tokyo. He became a partner with the ice mountain beauty, Aoi Misha, and started a fierce competition with his opponent. In this sport, the "propeller" who operated the rowing boat and the "shooter" who used the water gun to attack the opponent rode a motorboat across the water in pairs.

There was also the movie version of the animation,"Let's Work Hard Together!" Among them, Eguchi Takuya played the role of Minamiya Hayato, the head of the rowing club of Mitsuzu East High School, where the protagonist, Etsuko Murakami, belonged. He was the famous "rowing idiot" in the school. The animation would be released in Japan on October 25th. The animation was adapted from the novel of the same name by Yoshiko Shikimura, who won the Young Master Literature Award in 1995. It depicted the growth and inner fluctuations of female high school students in the rowing club on the stage of Matsuyama City, Ehime Prefecture.
