Beijing Olympic medals

It was designed by Alina Waters and Zhang Tiecheng, with a diameter of 70mm and a thickness of 6mm. The gold medal was not less than 6 grams, and the silver medal was pure silver. The design of the medal was inspired by the ancient China dragon pattern jade wall and the jade double dragon cattail pattern. It adopted the structure of " gold inlaid with jade ". The front side was engraved with the logo of the International Olympic Committee, namely the Greek Goddess Statue and the Panathinako Arena. The back side was a style with China characteristics. The outer side was inlaid with the ancient China dragon pattern jade wall, and the middle metal was engraved with the China national emblem. In terms of color, the gold medal was white jade, the silver medal was bluish-white jade, and the bronze medal was green jade. The medal hook was designed with reference to the jade pendant of the Han Dynasty," Double Dragon Pu Wen Huang." The medal packaging box was a wooden lacquer box with a square shape. The four sides of the cover were slightly curved, and there was a slight arc in the middle of the four sides. The golden emblem of the Beijing Olympic Games was embedded in the center of the box. The medal ribbon was made of 38% mulberry silk and 62% polyester-based chemical fiber double-sided fine weaving. The surface had been processed by high-tech nanotechnology. It was waterproof, fire-resistant, moth-proof, anti-pollution, and never faded. This design reflected the values and honor of the Chinese people since ancient times, which was to compare "jade" with "virtue". It had a strong aesthetic effect and collection value. Moreover, its impact resistance and safety performance were excellent. If an athlete's home caught fire, the medal and ribbon would be intact.
