The eighth suspect
'The Eighth Suspect' was a film with many aspects. In terms of character creation, each character had their own uniqueness. For example, Wang Shouyue, a former public security officer, was still obsessed with tracking down the suspect Chen Xinwen after retirement. His disregard for personal safety reflected his strong pursuit of justice and truth, conveying the belief that justice would not be ignored with time. He Lan showed rigorous criminal investigation logic and brave pursuit spirit. He persevered in searching for clues in the face of danger during the pursuit, emphasizing the importance of law enforcement officers in maintaining social peace and justice. The story of Chen Xinwen and Yang Fang, the couple, was thought-provoking. Chen Xinwen, an accomplished construction boss, committed a serious crime because of greed. After changing his name for many years, his seemingly peaceful life was finally broken. This showed that the consequences of sin would not disappear with time. It also made people realize that they had to be responsible for their own actions and recognize the harm that sin did to their families. Chen Xinnian's participation in the robbery and escape with Chen Xinwen reflected the influence of the family environment on individual moral values and behavior, emphasizing the key significance of family education in the cultivation of moral character and values. In terms of the plot, there were different opinions. Some people thought that the plot was flat and straightforward, lacking the ups and downs of a documentary. However, others thought that the plot was fascinating. With the bizarre death of a politician as the introduction, the psychological struggle between the police and the suspect as the main line, a contest of wisdom and courage was launched. In the process, the character's personality and motives gradually revealed, and the truth of the case was also revealed. Judging from the theme and value conveyed by the film, it showed the variety and complexity of the characters, the music was well coordinated, and the characters were portrayed in detail. It conveyed the idea that justice would eventually triumph over evil, reflecting the superiority of social justice and social systems. At the same time, it showed the complexity of human nature. The state of good and evil intertwined also made people understand that " you can't judge a book by its cover." It also showed that lies and deception could only temporarily cover up the truth and could not defeat the truth. In general, the movie was educational in terms of character, plot, and theme. Douban's eighth suspect
" The Eighth Suspect " had an opening score of 6.5 on Douban, but it had dropped to 6.3 now. More than half of the audience gave it three stars, and only 30% gave it good reviews. This movie lacked details in character design. It was not realistic enough and did not have any dramatic handling. The impression was dull, there was no detective or reasoning elements, the editing was not bright, and the rhythm tested patience. However, there were also highlights. For example, Dapeng's performance was impressive. He played Chen Xinwen in the first half of the movie and Mo Zhiqiang in the second half. The two identities of a person in different encounters were played by him. Some of the colorful scenes in the movie were also quite exciting. Watching " All Suspects " wasn't enough.
