How to write text horror stories?
First, think of a really creepy setting like an old, abandoned asylum. Then, create a disturbing character, perhaps a shadowy figure that moves silently. Build tension by using short, choppy sentences and withholding information from the reader. For example, 'She heard a noise in the attic. It was getting closer, but she couldn't see what it was.'
To write a horror story, start with a strong fear factor, such as the fear of the unknown. You can introduce elements like strange noises in the middle of the night, or objects that seem to move on their own. Make your protagonist vulnerable, like a young child alone in a big, dark house. Describe the atmosphere in detail, using words that evoke a sense of dread, like 'the cold, damp air filled with a putrid smell'.
Begin by choosing a spooky theme, for instance, a haunted forest. Then, develop a plot that gradually unfolds the horror. Maybe a group of hikers get lost in the forest and start experiencing inexplicable events. One of them sees a pair of glowing eyes in the bushes, but when they look closer, there's nothing there. As the story progresses, the sense of danger and horror should increase, and end with a truly terrifying climax.
