Lao She (February 2, 1899-August 24, 1966), formerly known as Shu Qingchun, was a famous novelist, dramatist, writer, ideologist, and fighter for democracy in China in the 20th century. Lao She's representative works include the novel Camel Xiangzi, Teahouse, Four Generations Under One roof, and the play Longxu Gully.
