The general content of my hesitation
Hesitation (xángáng) refers to a person who is in a state of confusion and uncertainty. It is often manifested as negative emotions such as emptiness, helplessness, and loss. In the novel "Hesitation", the protagonist Fang Hongjian was born in a prestigious family, but because of the changes in his family and his own confusion, he fell into one emotional entanglement after another and finally lost himself. The novel unfolded from Fang Hongjian's perspective, depicting the living conditions and psychological changes of people in that era through his experiences. In the story, Fang Hongjian met many different women, including housewives, prostitutes, talented women, lovers, and so on. Each woman had her own story and personality, which made Fang Hongjian have different emotional entanglements and choices. Fang struggled in confusion and pain, but finally he realized that he needed to face reality and walk out of his predicament in order to find his true self and the direction of life. Through Fang Hongjian's experience, the novel explored the topics of human nature, family, love, responsibility, etc. It showed the living conditions and psychological changes of people in that era.
