As a computer beginner, although typing in Pinyin is slow, I have a good foundation in Pinyin, so I don't think it's necessary to learn Wubi. Pinyin and Wubi were both Chinese character input methods that could be used to input Chinese characters. However, the input methods of Pinyin and Wubi are different. Pinyin is an input method based on Pinyin rules, while Wubi is an input method based on Chinese character structure memory. Therefore, if you have mastered the rules of Pinyin on the basis of learning Pinyin, it will be more efficient and convenient to use the Pinyin input method. On the contrary, if you haven't learned Pinyin or have a poor foundation in Pinyin, learning Wubi might be more useful. By learning the Wubi input method, one could better grasp the structure and strokes of Chinese characters and thus improve the typing speed and efficiency. Of course, if you have a strong interest in computer technology and want to become a skilled computer operator, learning the five-stroke input method is also a good choice. However, if you are not interested in computer technology or only need basic computer functions, learning the Pinyin input method is enough.
