In ancient times, people who achieved enlightenment were usually called true people, masters, immortals, and so on. These titles often carried a mysterious and extraordinary meaning, expressing their respect and admiration for the cultivation achievements of the experts. In novels, the names of some of the accomplished people might be shorter. For example, in Water Margins, Ximen Qing was called "big official" or "official". Some of the masters in novels might not have names and only appear as a certain character. For example, Jia Baoyu in "Dream of the Red Chamber" was called "Master Jia".
