Pu Songling (1630 - 1705) was a novelist, writer, ideologist, and social practitioner in the Qing Dynasty. His representative works included Strange Tales from a Chinese Studio, which were regarded as classic works of ancient Chinese novels. Pu Songling was born in Penglai, Shandong Province. He was intelligent and fond of reading since childhood. When he was young, he already had literary talent and once held an official position. However, due to dissatisfaction with politics, he finally resigned and began his literary career. His literary works were popular with readers because of their horror, horror, and absurdity.
