Why did the third part of the classic period drama, Princess Pearl, replace most of the actors?
The third part of Princess Huanzhu was an ancient drama adapted from Qiong Yao's novel, which told the story of Little Swallow and Crape Myrtle. During the production process, because the plot and character settings of Qiong Yao's novel had already been deeply rooted in people's hearts, it was difficult to completely restore the characters and plots in the novel. In order to improve the production effect and increase the novelty, the producers decided to adjust the plot and replace most of the actors. In 2017, Li Sheng, the actor who played the role of Little Swallow, announced that he would withdraw from the filming of the third part of Princess Pearl, which also led to the role of Little Swallow in this version being played by someone else. In 2018, Hai Lu, the actor of Ziwei, announced that he would join the third film of Princess Pearl and replace Li Sheng's role. In addition, the third film of Princess Pearl also replaced other actors such as Hai Lu, who played Ziwei, Zhang Heng, who played Yongqi, and Liu Yijun, who played Xiao Jian. The departure or joining of these actors led to changes in the characters and the plot. However, in the end, the third episode of Princess Pearl became a classic period drama that was deeply loved by the audience.
