Feng Jicai (1895 - 1990) was a famous Chinese writer, painter, social actician, and translator. He was hailed as one of the founders of modern Chinese literature. His masterpieces included "Three Words and Two Paps","Short Story Weekly","Mengya" and so on. These works had a profound impact on modern Chinese literature. His works described social life and human nature as the theme of concise language, vivid, philosophical and implied meaning, known as the "pioneer of vernacular literature." In addition, Feng Jicai was also an outstanding social actician who actively participated in social welfare and cultural and artistic causes. He had once served as the chairman of the China Federation of Literature and Art Circles and a representative of the National People's Congress.
