Did Dudian really lose his conscience?
This question needed to be answered in conjunction with the plot and background of the novel. Dudian had lost his conscience in 'Dark King'. But he finally got the chance to regain his conscience. In the novel, Dudian was an ordinary soldier. His initial goal was to become an excellent soldier. However, in the process of carrying out the mission, he gradually found that his conscience was distorted. He began to become cruel and violent, both to his enemies and to innocent people. In the end, he was sentenced to death, but before the death penalty, he had a chance to prove his conscience again. He finally chose to commit suicide to prevent his execution. So it could be said that Dudian had lost his conscience but he finally got the opportunity to regain it.
