The second chapter described life in kindergarten and elementary school in Moscow. The third chapter recounts the experience of studying literature at Moscow University. The fourth chapter described the experience of boarding in a noble family. Chapter 5 recounts the experience of playing in the forest with Yakovslav. Chapter 6 described his experience working in a factory. Chapter 7 is about learning to read and write under the guidance of a tutor. Chapter 8 described the help and influence of his relatives and friends. Chapter 9 described his experience in the revolution. Chapter 10 tells the story of returning to Kyiv to reunite with Yakovslav and start a new life. The last chapter of the novel described the worldview and values formed in his childhood, as well as his thoughts on human civilization and social issues.
