Ba Jin was born in modern China in 1897 and died in 1971. His works cover modern novels, modern prose, modern poetry and many other fields. He is considered one of the outstanding representatives of modern Chinese literature. Ba Jin belonged to the modern literature school. His works mostly described the Chinese society from the 1930s to the 1950s. With personal experience, social reality and historical events as the main material, he presented a unique realism style, reflecting the development of modern Chinese literature.
