Liu Yiqing was a novelist from the Ming Dynasty and was known as one of the great masters in the history of Chinese literature. His masterpiece, Water Margins, which depicted 108 righteous men rebelling against the ruling class, was considered the pinnacle of Chinese fiction. In addition to Water Margins, Liu Yiqing's other masterpieces included Romance of the Three Kingdoms, Dream of the Red Chamber, and other works that were hailed as classics of Chinese literature. His works were very important to the development and influence of Chinese literature and are still widely read and studied.
