IP(Internet Protocol) is a protocol used to transmit data packets between computer networks. It is one of the most commonly used network communication protocol, mainly used for data exchange on the Internet. The IP protocol is responsible for transmitting the data packet from the source address to the destination address, performing the decapsulation and decapsulation of the data packet, as well as determining the priority of the data packet and the route strategy. An IP address is a 32-bit address that usually represents a location on a network. The IP address is composed of two decimals (the source address and the destination address), separated by colons. The format of the IP address could be modified according to different network architecture, such as the IP version 4 and the IP version 6. Due to the importance of the IP protocol in the computer network, many operating systems and software provide support for the IP protocol. For example, the Windows operating system, the linux-based operating system, the macos-based operating system, and the android-based operating system all provide access to the IP protocol.
