"Journey to the West" was a long novel written by the Ming Dynasty novelist Wu Chengen. It told the story of Sun Wukong, Zhu Bajie, Monk Sand, and Tang Sanzang (also known as the "Journey to the West") who went to India to retrieve Buddhist scriptures after 81 difficulties. The novel was written at the end of the 16th century and is one of the most important works in the history of Chinese literature. It is also a classic in the history of Chinese literature. Wu Chengen lived in the Ming Dynasty. His novels were known for their oral and humorous language style and were known as the "pinnacle of Chinese novels."
