How to Appreciate the Art of photography
The art of photography could be appreciated from the following aspects: ** I. Thesis and Connotation ** 1. ** Story ** - In documentary photography, the focus was on grasping the story of the character. For example, a documentary might convey the story behind a particular event or social phenomenon through the expressions, actions, and environment of the people in the picture. If one only paid attention to the lighting and composition of the picture and ignored the story, one would not be able to fully appreciate the charm of documentary photography. 2. ** Thoughts expressed ** - Like human oil paintings, photography could also convey thoughts such as praise and reverence for life. For example, some photographs that reflected the living conditions of people might express thoughts about the living conditions of humans or concern for specific social groups. ** 2. The composition and the sense of order in the picture ** 1. ** Scenery relationship ** - The relationship between the scenes in the picture could reflect the artistic order of the work. For example, in a landscape photography work, there was a reasonable combination of distant, medium, and close-up shots, such as mountains in the distance (distant), rivers in the middle (medium), and trees nearby (close-up). This kind of relationship could guide the audience's line of sight and make the picture more layered and rich. 2. ** Technique of composition ** - Different composition techniques had an important impact on the artistic effect of the work. For example, in portrait photography, the photographer might use a unique composition to highlight the characteristics of the character. If it was art photography, the composition might pay more attention to the beauty of the form, creating a unique visual effect through the arrangement and combination of the elements of the picture. While documentary photography focused on the story, it also needed a reasonable composition to assist the story. ** 3. Use of Light ** 1. ** The use of natural light ** - For portrait photography, different periods of natural light had different effects. Natural light in the early morning or evening was usually considered better, creating a soft and warm light effect. However, there were also photographers who would challenge to shoot at special times such as noon, using the characteristics of the light during this period to create unique light and shadow effects, such as using the strong sunlight at noon to create special light and shadow through lace hats. 2. ** Artificial light ** - In some special environments, artificial light was needed. For example, when shooting a skier in an ice cave, using the Profoto B1 flash to create the right light may encounter problems such as the flash not working properly at high altitudes and low temperatures. At this time, how the photographer solved the lighting problem became a highlight of the work. At the same time, the combination of artificial light and environmental light also affected the final effect of the work. ** 4. Colors and Tones ** 1. ** Color expression ** - Color had a strong expressive power in photography. In landscape photography, different colors could convey different emotions. For example, warm colors may give people a feeling of warmth and vitality, while cold colors may create a quiet and distant atmosphere. 2. ** Unity and contrast of colors ** - The unity of the colors or the contrast between the colors was also crucial. The uniform color tone could make the picture look harmonious and harmonious, while the contrast of color tone could highlight the key elements in the picture and enhance the visual impact.
