Debate on college students 'entrepreneurs, do you know that the disadvantages are greater than the benefits?
The following are some arguments that can be used to argue that college students do more harm than good: ** 1. College student's perspective ** 1. ** Imbalance between knowledge and experience ** - College students mainly received theoretical knowledge education on campus and lacked practical experience. Start-ups needed to deal with complex market conditions, such as market research, product promotion, financial management, etc. The lack of practical experience would make them encounter many difficulties in the process of starting a business. For example, in business negotiations, college students without sufficient social experience might have difficulty accurately grasping the needs and bottom line of the partner, thus making decisions that were not conducive to the development of the company. - The lack of interpersonal relationships and business networks was also a major disadvantage for college students to start a business. In business activities, human resources could often bring more opportunities to the company, such as obtaining financial support and market information. As college students had just stepped into society, their social circles were mainly limited to their classmates and teachers. It was difficult to quickly establish an effective business network. 2. ** Mental endurance and risk of starting a business ** - Starting a business was full of risks, including capital risks, market risks, technical risks, and so on. College students 'ability to take risks was relatively weak. On the one hand, they lacked sufficient capital reserves. Once their business failed, they might face a debt crisis. On the other hand, college students' psychological endurance was limited. When they encountered business setbacks, such as unsalable products, broken capital chain, etc., they might produce great psychological pressure, leading to giving up on starting a business and affecting their future development confidence. - Many college students were too optimistic about their business and lacked sufficient estimation of the difficulties. They might start a business in a hurry with just one idea, without considering factors such as market acceptance and competition. When there was a huge gap between reality and ideals, they would easily fall into trouble. 3. ** The conflict between studies and starting a business ** - University was an important stage for a person to obtain knowledge and improve their own quality. The main task of university students was to study. Starting a business required a lot of time and energy, which would inevitably distract college students from their studies. A person's energy was limited. If one put too much energy into starting a business, it might lead to a decline in academic performance, affecting the accumulation of professional knowledge and the improvement of academic ability, which was not conducive to one's long-term career development. - College education aimed to improve the cognitive system, value system, and personality quality of college students. Some short-term interests in the process of starting a business might conflict with the long-term goals of college education. 4. ** Capital acquisition and capital operation ** - College students had limited access to funds. When borrowing from commercial banks, it was difficult to get a loan because they lacked a stable source of income and sufficient credit guarantee. Moreover, in the process of starting a business, capital operation required a certain amount of professional knowledge and experience. College students might suffer losses due to mistakes in decision-making. For example, in terms of capital budget, if the cost estimation was insufficient or the market returns were too optimistic, it might lead to a break in the capital chain. ** 2. From the perspective of social resources ** 1. ** Ineffective use of social resources ** - From the perspective of the optimal allocation of social resources, if a large number of inexperienced college students poured into the field of entrepreneurs, it might cause a waste of social resources. For example, some college students 'start-up projects were launched without sufficient market research and demonstration, occupying limited space, equipment, manpower and other resources, but in the end, they might not be able to achieve the expected economic benefits, resulting in idle or inefficient use of resources. 2. ** Deviation in employment orientation ** - Although starting a business could create employment opportunities to a certain extent, the success rate of college students starting a business was relatively low. If college students were excessively encouraged to start their own businesses, it might cause some college students to deviate from their original career preparation direction, give up the opportunity to accumulate experience and improve their abilities in existing mature enterprises, and blindly pursue start-ups. In the end, they would not succeed in starting their own businesses, but they would also miss the good opportunity to find employment, which would bring some pressure to social employment.
