Treat kindergarten drills as actual combat
In the safety drills in the kindergarten, the children sometimes treated the drills as actual combat. For example, in a riot drill at a kindergarten in Ordos City, Inner Mongolia, a parent played the role of a bad guy to simulate a fight with the security guards. The five-year-old child playing beside him took it seriously. Although he was afraid, he still rushed to protect his father with blocks. This meant that the child was young and had limited knowledge. It was difficult for him to distinguish between practice and actual combat. The same was true for earthquake drills. For example, the earthquake drills of Shangyu Elementary School and Shuanglong Town Central kindergarten in Xuzhou District were carefully prepared by the teachers. They used pictures and videos to let the children understand earthquake knowledge. When the alarm sounded, the children would be nervous and take it seriously. They would quickly hide in the corner under the table or evacuate in an orderly manner, just like facing a real earthquake. This meant that as long as the kindergarten education was properly guided, the children would take the exercise very seriously and improve their safety awareness and emergency response ability during the exercise.
