How to raise a cat
Here are some key points for raising cats: * * 1. Cat Selection ** 1. * * Breed Selection ** - If you are an old man and want to be with a cat, you can choose a Thai cat, a Burmese cat, or a Himalayan cat. - If the baby likes cats, you can choose a Himalayan cat or a Thai cat. - If you have ornamental birds or people who are easily agitated at home, it is best to buy a docile Persian cat. - If you live in the countryside, you can buy a cat that is good at catching mice. 2. * * Age selection ** - Cats would weigh 0.5 - 1 kg at 4 - 8 weeks after birth. They would have the ability to live independently and were suitable for weaning. This stage was the best age to buy a cat. Buying an older cat was not easy to build a relationship with the owner, and there might be problems such as hiding, fighting, or escaping. If the cat was too young, it would not have the ability to live independently, and it was easy to get sick or even die if it was not properly taken care of. At the same time, before buying a kitten, it is best to understand the situation of the cat mother. The cat mother should be well-developed, healthy and healthy, and have a high nutritional level. * * 2. Health Care ** 1. * * Disease Identification ** - * * Mental state **: A healthy cat is usually spirited and sensitive to sound or external stimulation; while a sick cat may be listless, like to lie down, have listless or half-closed eyes, slow to respond to stimulation, or may be excited, restless, turn around, bite things, bark, manic, etc. - * * Nutritional status **: A healthy cat's fur is smooth and shiny, and its muscles are plump and strong; a sick cat's back fur is rough, dry, lusterless, thin, and weak. - * * Body temperature **: The body temperature of a normal cat is 38.0 - 39.5 ° C. In addition to using a thermometer to measure, you can also observe the changes in the temperature of the nose (dry nose may be a sign of high body temperature), the root of the ear, and the skin. Cats with abnormal body temperatures were often accompanied by thirst, lack of energy, slow movements, loss of appetite, and other symptoms. - * * Postures **: A cat's abnormal posture of standing, lying down, walking, and jumping may be a sign of illness. For example, limping when walking or standing in an improper position when the limbs were in pain, curling up when the abdomen was in pain, putting the head under the abdomen, or lying down in an unnatural position. - * * Breathing **: Normal breathing rate is 20 - 30 breaths per minute. Increase or decrease in the number of breaths, with difficulty breathing, dilated nostrils, open mouth breathing, abdominal flapping, etc., may suffer from respiratory diseases or other general diseases, but pay attention to distinguish the normal physiological breathing changes caused by changes in season, temperature, and activity. - * * Appetite **: Sick cats generally have different degrees of anorexia and anti-feeding, but they should be distinguished from picky eaters. At the same time, pay attention to the amount of water they drink. When they have fever or diarrhea, they may drink more water. When they are seriously ill or exhausted, they may drink less or even not drink water. 2. * * Claw grinding problem ** - Gritting its claws was a cat's nature, and it was difficult to stop it. If the cat grinds its claws on the furniture, stop it in time and take it to a place with a scratching board. * * 3. Daily feeding ** 1. * * Food * - Different breeds of cats had different food preferences. Some cats didn't care about the food in their bowls and only wanted to eat their owners 'food. However, when their owners fed them, they might just smell it and run away. In the eyes of the cat, it seemed that only the water in its own basin did not taste good. The faucet and the owner's cup were more attractive to it. However, it was important to provide the cat with food that was suitable for its nutritional needs. 2. * * Interactions and company ** - For breeds like Siamese cats, they would follow their owners for the rest of their lives. They needed companionship and interaction very much. Giving them snacks during interaction would make them very happy. * * 4. Living habits ** 1. * * Living environment ** - It was necessary to respect the cat's habit of exploring small spaces and having a strong interest in cardboard boxes, and provide it with a suitable living environment. 2. * * Special behavior ** - Cats may have some special behaviors. For example, at a fixed time, regardless of whether there is food in the rice bowl, they will meow and ask their owners to feed them. They will take the initiative to act coquettishly to their owners but do not like to be hugged. They do not like the door to be closed, especially when their owners are going to the toilet. They like to sleep where their owners are reading or playing on the computer. They are curious about things outside the window. They like to sneak into the bathroom, jump into the bathtub, or play with toilet paper.
