Chapter 37 of Journey to the West mainly told the story of Wuji Kingdom. During this time, Tang Sanzang was chanting in the Sanzang Hall until midnight. A strong wind blew outside the house, and the soul of the king of Wuji came to pay his respects. The king told Tang Sanzang about his injustice. Five years ago, Wuji was in a drought. A Quanzhen Taoist came to save the country. The king became his brother and ate and slept with him for two years. However, the Taoist pushed the king into the well, covered the well with a stone slab, and covered it with a banana fan. He occupied the throne for three years. This plot reflected the complicated factors in human nature. From the king's point of view, he had become sworn brothers with the Taoist out of selfishness. He wanted the Taoist to stay in the country to ensure good weather, which reflected his desire for power and the stability of the country. The Taoist priest, on the other hand, used his relationship with the king to familiarize himself with the environment and ensure that he could pass off the fake as the real one before he usurped the throne, demonstrating his insidious cunning. In the face of the king's request, Tang Sanzang was first proud of his disciple Wukong's ability to catch demons, and then worried that all the civil and military officials in the court would not believe them. This plot showed that he had both the vanity of mortals and the cautious side of his character. Ba Jie's reaction added to the humor of the story. He complained that he couldn't even sleep well after following Tang Sanzang. From this, he could conclude some principles of life, such as not panicking in the face of unexpected situations, to clear up their thoughts, and not to forget themselves when they were proud, to consider the problem thoroughly. At the same time, the story also revealed the complex relationships in interpersonal relationships and the multi-faced nature of human nature. Read more exciting novels for free
