The Douban film reviews about the "volunteers" were both positive and negative. " The volunteers: Battle of Life and Death " had a rating of 7.5, which was basically the highest rating. The film was recognized in many ways. Its theme showed the heroic deeds of the China People's Liberation Army in the War to Resist the United States and Assist Korea. For young audiences, it could make them feel the sacrifice and dedication of their ancestors and the conviction to fight for their country. As for the production team, from the director to the actors, they all paid attention to details. The director's perspective was unique, perfectly combining the cruelty of war with the bravery of the soldiers. The actors performed brilliantly, and the main actors and supporting actors put in a lot of passion and effort. In terms of visual effects, the use of modern technology made the war scenes realistic and shocking, and the special effects team made the historical scenes realistic. The emotional portrayals were also quite accurate. Through the intertwined fates of the main characters, they showed the pain and helplessness of the war, arousing the audience's respect for the martyrs. The strong emotional resonance left a deep mark on the audience. The publicity and promotion were also very successful, attracting a large number of audience attention and triggering many social discussions. However, in " volunteers 2," Douban scored 7.1. The movie focused on the battle on Iron Plateau, but there were many problems. The plot logic was chaotic, such as " digging a tunnel in a day ", which was contrary to the actual situation of the war. The war scenes were far less portrayed than expected. Compared to similar films such as Changjin Lake, which only showed the scene of "flooding the seven armies", it lacked tension and epic feeling. There were obvious problems with the character creation. Zhang Zifeng's character setting was awkward and redundant. Chen Feiyu's performance was stiff and pretentious, and it was suspected that there was an extra act. His performance was not good when he appeared and he did a superhero-like action scene. He could not show the pain and despair of the character under the trauma of war. It was as if he was playing cool. All these led the audience to doubt the quality of the film. The film was obviously inclined to be commercial, which made the audience feel the commercial atmosphere and hype. Watching " 749 Match " wasn't enough. Everyone, please click to read the novel!
