What are the best practices for making a Visual Novel in Unity 5?
Keep your UI simple and intuitive. Players should be able to easily understand how to progress through the story. Also, test your visual novel on different devices to ensure compatibility. Another important thing is to have a consistent art style throughout the visual novel.
One best practice is to plan your branching storylines carefully. Make sure each choice has a meaningful impact on the story. When it comes to assets, optimize them to reduce the game's file size. In Unity 5, use the Profiler to check for performance issues. Additionally, make sure your text is legible and well - formatted. You can use different fonts and text sizes to create emphasis where needed.
In Unity 5 for visual novels, it's good to have a backup system for your story data. This can prevent data loss during development. For character interactions, use smooth animations. When coding, follow good coding practices like proper naming conventions. You should also create a mood board for your visual novel's overall look and feel. This can help you maintain a consistent aesthetic throughout the project. And don't forget to get feedback from others during the development process to improve your visual novel.
