In the category of rebirth novels, revenge novels had some points that were ridiculed. On the one hand, there might be some unreasonable aspects in the character creation. For example, in some revenge stories, in order to highlight the counterattack of the reborn protagonist, the original protagonist or villain would be portrayed as too stupid or too typical. The original protagonist might be stripped of his original halo and wisdom for no reason, while the villain would be portrayed without any bottom line and wisdom. He would exist purely to serve as a foil to the reborn protagonist, lacking in three-dimensional character. On the other hand, there might be a problem with the plot. The common plot was that the reborn protagonist brought along the memories of his previous life and used his cheat to crush the original protagonist or villain. The revenge process was too smooth and lacked the ups and downs of the plot, causing readers to easily develop aesthetic fatigue. Moreover, some revenge novels focused too much on the thrill of revenge and ignored the emotional development of the characters and the logic of the story, making the story lack depth and content. Read more exciting novels for free
