Xu Chi's Life

Xu Chi was born in Beijing in 1958. He was a famous Chinese scholar, essayist, and translator. Xu Chi graduated from Peking University in 1982 with a master's degree in literature. In 1985, he received a doctor's degree in literature. After graduation, he stayed in Beijing University to teach as a professor in the Department of Foreign Language and a tutor for PhD students. Xu Chi had in-depth research in the fields of literature, language, translation, and so on. He had published many excellent academic papers and prose works, and was regarded as one of the important figures in the contemporary Chinese literary world. Xu Chi had received many honors and awards, including " Beijing City Cultural Celebrity "," Beijing City Outstanding Teacher "," Peking University Outstanding Teaching Achievement First Prize ", and " Peking University Outstanding Teacher ". At present, Xu Chi was a professor at the School of Literature and Humanities of Peking University in China. He was also a member of the Translation Theory Research Society of the Chinese Translation Association and a member of the Standing Committee of the National Congress of the Chinese Prose Society.
