Two Leaves Pavilion and Four Fans (formerly known as Liu Cixin) was a Chinese sci-fi author who was born in 1963 and now lives in Beijing. His representative works included the "Three-Body Problem" series,"Ball Lightning", and "Dark Forest". In his early years, he studied physics at the University of Science and Technology of China and then went to the United States to study for a Ph. D. in physics. During his stay in the United States, he began to try to write science fiction novels and publish his works in magazines such as Science Fictions World. In 1995, he returned to China and joined the Chinese sci-fi community. The sci-fi works of the Four Mysteries of the Second Leaf Pavilion usually depicted the communication, conflict, and cooperation between humans and extraterrestrial civilizations from a grand perspective. Their representative work, The Three-Body Problem, was hailed as a classic work of Chinese sci-fi literature. The "Three-Body" series was divided into three parts: "Three-Body,""Dark Forest," and "Death's Eternal Life." Since its publication, it had been well received and won many domestic and foreign literary awards. In addition to writing, he was also actively involved in the production of sci-fi movies. He had worked with screenwriter Liu Cixin to create the script for the movie "The Three-Body Problem" and participated in the filming of the movie. In addition, he also participated in the planning and production of many movies, TV series, and variety shows. The Four Mysteries of the Second Leaf Pavilion was one of the representatives of Chinese science fiction literature. His creative process and style had made important contributions to the development of Chinese science fiction literature.
