I remember watching a later episode where Shafia said that it was impossible between her and Ruby... Did something happen? Someone in the know, please tell me. It's best if there's a picture.

Nothing special happened to Ruby and Shafia in the Pokémon Special. At the beginning of the Pokémon Special, Ruby and Shafia were transported to different worlds by their respective masters and became Pokémon trainers. Although they were in different worlds, they still kept in touch and sometimes helped each other.
