Why does my phone dim when I read novels?

Perhaps it was because the phone would detect that the surrounding brightness was low when reading novels, so it would automatically reduce the brightness of the screen to protect its eyes. This was a common behavior to make the screen more suitable for reading and reduce eye fatigue.
