The story suffers from the same flaws as most chinese webnovels: low quality writing/editing, unoriginality, unnecessary monologues and info dumps. The same character tropes like in A LOT of other stories fx: The fat 'funny' friend, and the beautiful and strong (possible) love interest. The story also suffers from 'dragging on the story to meet word count'-syndrome. Thanks to obsoletefactor for review.

At least, I think the same as both reviewers. Nothing much behind this story, generic and bland, uncreative and boring, repetitive and illogical, pointless narrations and description (only for word count, like goddamn they not even gonna make an appearance anymore or there's no meaning to it, you dipsh*t!) and etc, etc, etc. To sum this up, I'm gonna quote someone else too : "I've read both this author's previous works and found that WoC was amazing, while TAoFE was complete sh*t. This novel is one of the most pretentious web novels I've read. The author has this strange theme of always choosing an underdog for an MC in his stories; an underdog that will fight all odds with his sweat and blood. Talent doesn't matter as long as you have a strong will and hardworking. Only, this is just an illusion to mask the excuses the author engineered such that the protagonist is actually lucky, has a somewhat convenient backdrop to excuse things that will happen in the future that will inevitably rise his level just because. As for the last, it has something to do with how the author uses his characters. Most, if not all, of his characters are one dimensional. They lack real personality and only identified by some cliche characteristics. Furthermore, it feels rather annoying to me to use other characters for his comic relief and power-up of the MC. An example for the former is how he shows the MC having a good time while another character currently experiencing a bad time. It felt forced. It's like hearing the author say, "Hey, you should laugh in this scene." or something. An example for the latter, on the other hand, is in the recent scenes in recent chapters (I'm in c41) wherein the girl character was conveniently hungry, conveniently was not able to resist eating normal food even though she, according to the author, only eats elemental food all her life, conveniently ate at the same restaurant the MC went to, conveniently has no money with her, conveniently only has her very important bracelet with her to exchange things with, and so conveniently was linked to the MC in an earlier manner. But that's not the only convenience that we can see. We also have the MC to bring his sword to practice because the sand puppet conveniently asked a convenient question, and a convenient sword embryo, that will conveniently absorb the bracelet. And then we have the Duan guy that will conveniently show up, conveniently say some words that will conveniently anger the other two, that will conveniently make them attack him without mercy, and will conveniently be not physically fit to defend himself, that will conveniently awaken some sort of thing to the MC. So many conveniences. I know that shows can only be deemed interesting if conveniences to make interesting things happen appear. But with so many convenience? That's bad writing in my book." Thx to kalp456 and Novelupdatesaccount1 from NU. Ha!

If u guys are starting to compare Chinese webnovels with the works of Gabo, Nabokov or say Tolkien, Sanderson and the ilk I have nothing more to say. Having read quite my fair share of "cliche" as in almost all other novels, this one was a welcome and refreshing change. If the characters in this story are 1D I don't understand how u would rate the characters in AGM, ATG, MGA, SS, StFSP,l etc, would that mean they are 0D? This novel could be compared to a spec of gold dust in a gigantic trash heap. To compare it with gems and stars out there wouldn't even fare as a fair comparison. Ofcourse you can compare it with ******* literature in wattpad and stuff, but tell me a non cliche novel and I will see Ur point a(if there was one) a bit more clearly. "AGM, ATG, MGA, SS, StFSP,l etc" Well, to me all these novels is just "trash heap", to be clear. At recent times I begin to think that is probably 90~% of all chinese novels that was read by me were utter-complete-garbage/pile of sh*t and I HATE every second that was spent on all these trashes. ugghh... But! maybe it all just my imagination and this novel is really gooood! (sarcasm, btw) Subjective, who cares!

On the level of comparison with global literature, or just the fantasy genre ofcourse I agree to your point. Even this novel is just another "typical" MC's path to OP-ness. Just that I feel the characters are a whole lot more on a comparison level ; real. All I'm saying is this is a novel that is better than most in this heap of trash. But one might also say that better trash is still trash , but yeah

By the way, about "a-mate-urs", J. K. Rowling was ama-r too, she worked as a ****** teacher of English. But she really did good job. The world she build is amazing even with all these plot holes or flaws. She written a great story that received an award as 'the best-selling book series in history' and it's all were done when she was in "poverty" as single mother. Btw, excpect for the Cursed Child, it's just trash or garbage or whatever, just burn it. That amount of plot holes and bad writing was astronomical. Why the f*ck did you bring back that stupid Time-Turner, now time in your world not cicle but parallel or why did you say "Hermione was always black". It was written by you that she was white and it was you who picked Emma Watson, ffs. Omg, it's so cringy and dumb. But anyway I think you got my point, it doesn't matter if you are professional or ama-r it's all the same. What IS important is how much effort and creativity you put in your work. If all you gonna do count words and put bland plot awaiting for your revenue, it's not gonna work, it will NEVER gonna work. **: Haahaha! Srsly? A-mate-ur is censored? How can your ego and self esteem to be so low. But well at least you know your place, humph. pffhahahah

Yeah, all that matters is your creativity, effort and little bit of luck in the right place. Don't remind me about this abomination, uggghhhh. She almost ruined her own world. She needs to deflate her's ego, couse to all critics her only answer was "THAT'S RACIST!!!" or ban. Stupid senile hag.

I don't mind plot where main point is "typical MC's path to OP-ness" even kinda like them because of my individualistic nature, but they just can't write it in an interesting way. At least most of them.

As of Ch.466: [TRANSLATION QUALITY] -Naming- Even with so many staff involved, there is no confusion and naming standardization is top-notch. Every character's name is the same throughout the translation making google searching characters to freshen up memory easy for those who do it. -Spelling- I didn't notice anything after reading through the chapter, and after putting it through a Notepad++ with spellchecker all I got was some false positives in US Eng vs Brit Eng spelling differences. All in all, the English is coherent and the translation is consistent. [CHARACTERS] - Expect a wide variety of characters and a glossary will be needed. In terms of character presence there are introduced characters who will follow the MC throughout the story as a team, introduced characters who will be relevant to the ark and maybe get an appearance later, characters who are introduced but always kept in the background appearing occasionally as hidden mechanisms, and of course characters who are introduced and then thrown into a trash heap. So character importance for memorization is unpredictable as even some seemingly irrelevant ones become important cogs in the machine. This is a plus from me, but also why you will need a glossary. - In terms of character variety, let's just say you will be reading a bit of Game of Thrones here, with very varied character personalities, motivations, alignments, both antagonists you will root for and antagonists you will hate. Some side characters have MASSIVE impact on the story and MC, so they are not just throwaways to make the MC's aura shine above all. The interactions are complex and political, and a lot of characters are susceptible to varied development and influence that can be both bad and good including the MC. The MC is not perfect, far from it, but he is also awesome in his own way and is put by the author through some very tough situations for growth and not all of them are win-win situations (which is the biggest plus I give to this story - the author has balls and doesn't shy away from tragedy). As such the MC is actually relatable. [BATTLES AND CULTIVATION] The cultivation system is basically the mid stages of humanity developing a new system after the complete crash of the typical Xianxia cultivation system with spirit energy and the whole shabang in the past of the story. As a consequence the MC isn't just blindly following preset rules but spends a lot of time researching, being creative, and creating his own path in the world. Unlike many other stories where protagonists gain super-techniques from past creators, this MC is the creator of his own path left mostly to his own devices and inspiration from the world and helpers around him, and he is also a teacher and an influence upon others. The battles are pretty varied, are easy enough to visualize, and the author gives some basic descriptive reminders of techniques last i remember. The only thing i could whine about is that i sometimes lose track of the comparative power-levels due to descriptions, but that may be down only to me and my memory and requires input from other readers as well. A glossary won't be required for battles anyway. [STORY] Romance is present, is monogamous, and will develop slowly, and I also don't give a toss about romance. Now that we got that out of the way: Story progression is varied, sometimes quick and sometimes slow and sometimes in-between. The important part is that the side-character bits are not too long but rationally proportioned, and when they are long they are actually relevant and worthy to read through as normal, or have a noticeable buildup which gives them value. As i mentioned before, lots of politics, lots of character building and development, author takes the writing in unpredictable ballsy directions sometimes. MC actually feels mortal rather than immortal, is stuck in some bad situations where outcomes are unpredictable - not always the best, and sometimes even the worst. [GEOGRAPHY] A glossary isn't required for it. The locations are repeated enough times, and the relevant storytelling is usually concentrated around a certain location at the time such that memorizing is not required. The world building isn't much too big at this point. The author prefers to make the most out of least, and as such the locations are smaller in number than other novels but their descriptions are more fleshed out and tied to the politics, cultivation system, and story writing. The only thing i don't like is that it's tougher for me to make a mental map of the world compared to other novels for some reason (i knew the reason in the past but forgot by now as i'm reading over 50 other novels dammit), however the painting of the locations themselves is pretty clear, and most importantly the geography changes and its changes impact the story tangibly in both politics and cultivation.

Dual Cultivation God Returns

"Wu Long, the God of Pleasure, has fallen as he failed to breakthrough." This news have shocked all of the Seven Boundless Worlds. Meanwhile, a sixteen-year-old disciple of a dual cultivation sect was startled awake from a coma, and after some moments of calming down and gathering his thoughts, a dangerous light flickered deep in his eyes: "Jun Shaoshan, I will climb back to the top and make you pay for everything, no one has ever been safe after offending me, Wu Long!" -------------- Dual cultivation is a method of cultivation that can be seen described in a lot of cultivation novels where a man and a woman cultivates together by having sex. -------------- ***DIscord Link: https://discord.gg/JfSRtJVXTd The Image on the cover is AI-generated with some minor adjustments and text editing done over it.
