About the Story Naruto: I Write a Diary to Expose the Otsutsuki's Arrival (火影：我寫日記曝光大筒木降臨) by 傅嘯塵 follows Kitahara Kaede, a transmigrator and minor Konoha chunin whose private diary somehow ends up being read by the major players of the Naruto world. Through his casual, meme-filled entries and "video footage" of future events, the canon timeline gets derailed. Kaede thinks he's just venting, while everyone else frantically pieces together the future. About This Translation I'm aware another translator has been working on this story, and I respect their effort. I started my own version because I wanted a smooth, natural reading experience, one that preserves the author's humor without stiff or overly literal phrasing. Yep! The wait won't be much longer. I'm officially releasing the first 100 chapters this Saturday. I'm already caught up to the latest raw (Chapter 180), so after the initial release of the 100 chapters I'll be posting chapters on a fixed schedule, (2 chapters per day, depending on other factors that can change). That way I can keep polishing chapters and still have time to work on my other translations too. Thanks for all the support and patience, I really appreciate it. Ofc! I'll definitely let you know when it's out. I'm actually almost done, I have about 100 chapters translated in my drafts already. My plan is to keep translating until I'm caught up, then go back and review, edit, and polish everything before releasing it. Hopefully, it'll be a much smoother read without the skipped chapters and narrative issues! 😊

My review is focused on translation quality and reading experience The novel begins with a genuinely compelling premise and an intriguing concept that quickly draws you in. Unfortunately, the translation quality soon becomes a major barrier to enjoying it. The issues are consistent and increasingly distracting: frequent grammar mistakes, awkward phrasing, inconsistent terminology, pronoun confusion, and sections that read more like rough drafts than a finished translation. At times, I had to re-read sentences multiple times just to infer the intended meaning, which significantly breaks immersion. Formatting issues further weaken the reading experience. Inconsistent paragraph spacing, poorly handled dialogue, and uneven presentation make the text feel rushed and unpolished. Ideally, a translation should be invisible so the story can take center stage but here, the translation instead constantly pulls attention away from it. There are also noticeable instances of missing or heavily condensed content, leading to abrupt narrative jumps and confusion. Combined with the translation problems, this makes the overall reading experience frustrating, despite the underlying potential of the story. I am now working on my own translation of this fanfiction. My version focuses on accuracy, natural flow, proper editing, consistent terminology, and complete coverage of the source material (no skipped chapters). When I release the fanfiction, chapters will be released publicly on a schedule of approximately 2–5 per day, depending on length and editing requirements, with early access available to supporters.
