Yes, the bad thing about some, if not almost all, of the Akikan novels is their overly open or dramatic endings. I don't know if I'm the only one who feels this way, lol, but they're usually like junk food—you know they're bad for your health, but you keep eating them, lol.

If the ending of riser phenex is not a villain, it was too bad in my opinion, there were better options for a good ending
