Good observation. Won’t spoil the surprise though.
Appreciate and welcome the compliment. Look forward to the end of Belobog!
Happy to be back!
Cocolia’s next :)
Hahaha, potentially. Anchors as gameplay mechanics are fine but when I translate the concept to a more realistic setting, all sorts of issues arises - those raised in the chapters are but a few.
It’s good to be back! Was working o. the rewrites and I couldn’t release the chapters one by one since they were all interconnected. Enjoy them!
The difference comes down to character depth and storytelling needs. The Trailblazer is intentionally designed as a player avatar - like Persona protagonists, they have dialogue choices that let players shape their personality somewhat, but remain fairly blank-slate to accommodate different players. They lack detailed backstory or strong character traits by design. I chose to use Xander as an original character because the story I wanted to tell required a protagonist with a defined personality and established beliefs/values, a detailed backstory explaining how they developed those traits, room for meaningful character development and growth, and the ability to serve specific narrative themes and character arcs. These storytelling needs wouldn't work with the Trailblazer's intentionally flexible, player-insert nature. Xander's defined character allows for more focused character development and thematic exploration.
New artwork reveal incoming. You'll be in for a surprise!
The appropriate translation here would be: "All that knowledge and I'm surprised by how incredibly stupid/foolish you can be sometimes, Herta." The word "Boludo/a" is Argentinian slang for stupid/foolish, though it's often used casually between friends like "dummy" or "idiot" without the harsh connotations those words carry in English. In this case, "recontraboluda" intensifies it with "re" and "contra" (both meaning "very/really"), making it stronger but still maintaining that casual tone.
There's an obvious parallel I'm making between Xander's new appearance and that of Nanook, yes!
