It won't be revealed until later, of course, but it does make sense once you find it out. Sam also really likes this new version of Lord Blackburn, and wants to make sure that he is fully supported. Cass, of course, is stubborn, and even with his sister had a hard time accepting support. Sam has a hard path ahead of him before they can fully consider friendship or anything beyond employer and employee.

Cause the core isn’t the true issue. There is also usually a boss monster involved. They aren’t always together, so sometimes it’s touch the core and gtfo. This applies to other gares too, not just this specific gate. So, getting the gate stable, open, and allowing others to be able to exit and enter at will. That also means that they can do research on the gate itself, and the boss monster at the end.

At this point, that is kind of what they are planning to do. There’s more to it, but they have a few things that they need to do. One, make sure the gate doesn’t explode. To do that, they need a team to go in and touch the gate core. They don’t need to close the gate, but they do need to survive long enough to get that deep into the gate. With plans continuing to change, especially with the public and now, everyone in the world aware that the second type of this gate has shown up, some things are bound to change in their plan.

Do you remember how Rhys used to talk to Kellen? Calling him a C Class and the tone he said those words with? Granted, everyone on the front lines talks like that, but Rhys overdid it so that it wasn’t obvious he had a thing for him.
