It’s not 100% action, I just prefer romance between two people who are already into each other instead of the “will they won’t they” type thing. Absorbed? Did you mean abandoned? Is so, probably for the best if it didn’t get you interested right away. My upload schedule isn’t super consistent so probably best to read it when it’s done or close to.

Bro, the next few chapters go from both of them keeping the option open to having crushes and somewhat actively pursuing. I even had a whole internal monologue about it with Maki. This ff is more action based than romance based, meaning I don’t want to spend the first 5 chapters writing slice of life stuff where they slowly start to be friends with each other. Its not a very good way to hook readers either. I just skipped the strangers to friends part because do you honestly want to see that? I’d rather not read a few chapters of them going to class with each other and slowly becoming more than strangers. I just got to the actually interesting part where both see the other as a possibility. I wasn’t being “lazy” necessarily, I just chose to focus on other parts of the story, like the action and story of the source material. But maybe I should slow it down a bit in the future, this is my first piece of writing ever. Thanks for the criticism, even if it wasn’t very constructive.

Did you miss the “3 months later” at the start of the chapter? I don’t really like “romance” stories where the characters only get together at the very end so I sped it up. It’s realistic to develop some feelings for someone after three months of interacting with each other daily. Especially if you’re like one of two options.

It is tho. Toge was semi first grade and all he had going for him was his technique while Isamu is smarter, more capable physically, and better at using that technique. 1st grade is very realistic. You’re second sentence is basically what he’s saying to himself in this chapter bro bro.

He’d be spending energy and time on doing something he thinks would probably happen anyway. Aka, Shoko doesn’t need his help and he’s of better use in the field.
