I’ve seen that happen in a few long novels where the author can’t come up with a way to make the side characters relevant to the MC without powering them up with the: “the character had always wanted to be helpful to the MC and thus they trained very hard and reached a realm that CANNOT be attained with hard work” Normally the side characters are replaced with new, stronger ones who are relevant to for the moment and then nearly forgotten, unless they’ve got identity like being the granddaughter of some hermit who’s former demon king yadayada.
I guess it’s a formal pronoun(or whatever kind of word it is)of “He” for a higher being. English doesn’t have that kind of word referring to higher beings, so it’s usually just a capitalized he/she/it.
I’ve read a few novels, both completed and me, and they are very often just a rough copy paste from MTL translation. So often bad translation and close to no editors at all. Maybe some of the best novels have them, but vast majority don’t
Wasn’t it said that it was to prevent them from fighting or something? Or link all subordinates to his single son, which wouldn’t happen if he had several sons and their common senior would be their father.
I think it was that as long as there’s a 0.01% of getting killed, he gets a survival reward. He once said that since he won’t get a reward from someone, that means he can just stand there doing nothing and he will never get injured/killed by that person or group.
People saying “it’s weird” or “makes no sense” when they’re talking about a System, in a fantasy world where powerful spirits and demons live, where some a bone can turn into a big flying bone dragon. Now they saying the System doing something is too weird or makes no sense? To begin with, everything makes no sense and everything is weird.
Which character are you referencing to?
If you use the description used in Sword God in a World Of Magic about a being of Life and Death, then it should be something like “a living contradiction, something that shouldn’t exist, yet he does”. I tried finding the exact description but couldn’t so I wrote it off my memory
He shot Scarface, a subordinate. Heiss got killed by a ghost when he hid in the barn.
Don’t he throw away the Villain and said “don’t bully weaklings anymore or else”?
