Would there be at least a love interest?? Romance, if done well, can really elevate a book. I definitely still want an evil mc but it would be interesting to see what kind of woman he would attract assuming that he’s morally irredeemable.

I guess my problem was that the conversations they had together before clashed heavily with the new narrative that the author tried to shove in my face. I remember reading it and seeing how obvious it was that the author was changing things last minute and it was jarring. It was also already cemented in my head that she was his birth mother so the change just slapped me in the face way too hard. I was like “great, now there’s a second step mother, how boring” if you know what I mean😭😪

The author stated explicitly in a previous chapter that Dianne was Nalii’s (mc’s mother) sister so I don’t know what you’re on about. I just corrected you, nothing more nothing less.
