I’ve been looking for a good sports novel on here for a while, and I finally seem to have found one. Now this is a translation of the chinese novel "湾区之王", and it in some aspects is clearly written for a chinese audience. The sinophobia plot point is a very heavy theme up until the end of his first NFL season, but it gets dialed back quite a bit in the second season and the story starts to get a lot better. In my opinion the decision of which real life characters to make «villains» seem a bit out of touch with their real personalities, but at the end of the day this is a fictional work and it can be overlooked. Overall I really like the story and found myself invested in the characters and their development. Considering this is free to read all the way, aswell as being better than most other novels on the site, it really is worth a read.
