Think of his power like this: Let’s say you have the skill “Running”. The ‘energy’ used for the skill would be “stamina” and the ‘side effect’ would be “sweating”. With this logic, the “Blood Burning Technique” would use “1 cultivation level” as ‘energy’ in exchange for a temporary +1-3 cultivation level. The side effect would be being unable to stop the technique until the user dies. The side effect would get canceled but the energy cost remains.
