I don’t like goody-two shoe MC. I do like MCs that plan what they are going to do. A spur of the moment idea to steal all the herbs, then being surprised it back fires, then having a convoluted and unfunny stand off with guards, doesn’t make for a reliably cool or edgy MC. It turns them into a joke. Like the guy that tried to sell petrified wood as steel. It’s just silly. It fell flat for me, but I hope you get 100k+ people that like and enjoy it. I did like the setting and your authors voice, just not the MC you were giving life to. Good luck

So what happens if she actually cut him in half? Can they heal that? Would his dad have to try to kill everyone?

I’m not sure what’s going on here. Sure he was pragmatic about awakening, but why is he lying to his parents, why are his parents so concerned at the “change”, and if he did awaken why aren’t his parents more scared about him wondering off to a random rift due to its call? Why are they more concerned about a shifting desire to attend a school
